Oregon Paleo Lands Institute Hopes To Incite Tourism In John Day Fossil Beds Region

The Oregon Paleo Lands Institute will break ground in 2008 on a field center located in the John Day Fossil Beds Region that is designed to capture the imagination of future scientists and give enthusiasts a place to stop and explore paleontology in Oregon.

Travel Oregon awarded the Oregon Paleo Lands Institute $10,000 from its 2007-08 Matching Grants cycle to support their sustainable tourism marketing project of the John Day Fossil Beds Region.
