Travel Oregon And Metro Portland Combine To Run E-Home Holidays Promotion In Canada

Travel Oregon teamed with Travel Portland representing Metro Portland for a successful summer promotional campaign with E-Home Holidays in Richmond, BC. The campaign resulted in substantial room nights and generated significant estimated economic impact around the state from late June 2008 through September 2008.

From July to October 2008, E-Home Holidays ran 20 ads featuring Oregon in the Ming Pao Western Edition. Advertising was placed in the Saturday and Sunday edition (星期六周刊), a lifestyle-and-news magazine. This is one of the largest Chinese language publications in Canada. Naturally they offer an Eastern edition as well and it is published in Toronto.

These ad's encouraged travelers to enter a photo contest, taking pictures of their experiences on tour throughout Oregon. E-Home Holidays received more than 100 pictures from 40 families participating in this event.

Three winners will be drawn from these entries and prize packages will include Amtrak Cascades tickets, Portland Spirit tickets two nights at the Crowne Plaza Lake Oswego and gift cards to Woodburn Company Stores.

Western Canada continues to be a vital market for Oregon and this promotion is only the tip of the iceberg. It's always great to see the fruits of your labor and this one happened in a very short turn around. This promotion was created in late May, 2008, during a product development trip E-Home Holidays took to Oregon and obviously it paid off.
