Western States Tourism Policy Council Postpones Gateways Conference

The Western States Tourism Policy Council (WSTPC) has announced that it is postponing its conference on Gateways Today: Balancing Conservation and Community in an Age of Diversity, Change and Challenge.

The conference, which was being planned and organized in cooperation with partnering Federal agencies, was previously scheduled for December 2-4, 2008, at the Hyatt Tamaya Resort near Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It is anticipated that the conference will be held at the same location next spring and the planned program will be largely the same. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible. New leaders of the Federal land management agencies expected to be appointed by the next Administration in Washington will be invited to participate in this spring conference.

Anyone who has already paid to register for the conference and/or made travel arrangements can contact Katie Santillanes of the New Mexico Tourism Department at 505.827.4430 or at katie.santillanes@state.nm.us
