Southern Oregon Visitors Association Announces President's Award Winner

Former Oregon Senator Brady Adams was recently awarded the President's Award for tourism promotion by the Southern Oregon Visitors Association. The President's Award was established by SOVA in 2002, and is presented annually at the SOVA Marketing Symposium.

The award recognizes an individual that has made a significant contribution to the promotion and development of the tourism industry in Southern Oregon. A nominee is presented from Josephine, Jackson, Douglas, Coos, Curry, Douglas and Lake Counties and then the 29-member Board of Directors votes to select one recipient.

Adams has served as president of Evergreen Federal Bank in Grants Pass since 1988 and has made it his life's passion, both personally and through the actions of the bank, to enhance the livability of his community.

Adams was elected to the Oregon Senate in 1993 and became majority leader in 1995. He served as Senate President in 1997 and 1999. He will be receiving a Proclamation naming May 12 as the Official Brady Adams Day in Grants Pass.
