Oregon Restaurant Association President/CEO Mike McCallum Accepts Post As Chief Strategy Officer For National Restaurant Association

After 20 years at the Oregon Restaurant Association (ORA), including nine as President and CEO, Mike McCallum has accepted the position of Chief Strategy Officer for the National Restaurant Association (NRA).

In his new role, which will begin full-time on Mar. 1, McCallum will guide a strategic planning firm that will help the NRA and National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) and the State Association to serve the industry more effectively. In addition, he will be the primary liaison with state restaurant associations as efforts proceed to better align national and state agendas and plans. Combined, state restaurant associations bring $60 million of combined resources to the table in service to this industry.

To take on this new assignment, McCallum has been awarded a two-year leave of absence from the ORA.

Steve McCoid, who spent 16 years as CEO of the Oregon Grocery Association prior to serving the past nine years as chief operating officer at ORA, will replace McCallum.
