ODFW Adds New Features To Its Website

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) has created a Facebook page called Oregon Wildlife Viewing which includes information on wildlife viewing opportunities across the state.

Short facts about a particular species or viewing location will be pulled from the weekly recreation report put together by ODFW staff and posted on the site. The goal is to encourage people to get out and enjoy Oregon's natural resources and check out the recreation report for more information.

This is the second Facebook page created by ODFW. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife page includes updates on hunting and fishing opportunities; education events; and links to news releases, controlled hunt drawing results and other information.

An interactive map highlighting fishing opportunities in the Portland area has also recently been completed.

The Google-based map includes dozens of locations to wet a line within an hour of downtown Portland. The map also includes photos, fishing reports and additional information on many of the locations.

A printed version of this information is also available in the brochure - 50 Places to Go Fishing Within 60 Minutes of Portland.
