The Local Transient Lodging Tax Survey that was focus of a preliminary discussion at the Governor's Conference on Tourism is now complete and posted on Travel Oregon's Industry website.
This voluntary survey project analyzed local lodging tax (not 1% statewide tax) for fiscal years 03/04 and 06/07 in the interest of gathering information from Oregon's 103 local jurisdictions that levy a local tax on lodging. We were unable to find any previous study that attempted a comprehensive review of the local tax in terms of expenditures in relation to overall collections and rate. Because this was a voluntary survey, your local jurisdiction may or may not be included, but we did gather information on jurisdictions representing over 90% of all local collections statewide.
