The Oregon Economic and Community Development Department will host a second workshop on Wednesday (Jan. 30) to help local companies become contractors for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The first session held in the morning has sold out but room remains for a second session that will run from 2-5 p.m.
Ken Veldman, the business connections coordinator for the committee organizing the Winter Olympics, will attend.
Roughly $150 million in business contracts is expected to be handed out before the 2010 event.
Among the services needed: portable buildings, video production, event management, ticketing, tenting, transportation, flags, cleaning, waste removal and carpeting.
The workshop takes place Jan. 30 at the Port of Portland's headquarters in Old Town. Cost is $15.
