What’s Going On in Oregon this August?

This month, we’ve got food on our minds – juicy berries, artisan cheese, organic brew – so it’s a good thing the Oregon Bounty celebration is just around the corner. Mark your calendar because we’ve got some exciting things planned – make sure you enter to win a Hot Air Balloon Getaway. Or how about winning an all-expenses paid week to experience the culinary job of your dreams?

All this gorgeous weather means it’s time to hit the links. Oregon is home to more than 200 public golf courses – and we’re talking amazing courses -  Bandon Dunes, Pumpkin Ridge, Running Y and other championship links designed by world-famous course architects.

Finally, we’re so excited about good food that we have TWO recipes this month – one stars the huckleberry and the other is all about fresh-from-the-vine tomatoes.

See you in Oregon, where we’re completing the Oregon 150 Challenge.

You are doing a fine job of selling the great state of Oregon. After reading this wonderful site, I am going to make Oregon a place to visit in the very near future…

Keep up the good work…

Sincerely

Thank you for all of the wonderful info on Oregon. We can’t wait to get there. We will be starting our trip in Portland and spending 10 days touring the state…not nearly enough time to do it justice. Since we will be there in late September, we will be anxious to see what you send us for fall.

I am surprised not to see any mention of the Bite of Oregon taking place in Portland 8/7 – 8/9 at the downtown waterfront. Many local restaurants & Oregon wineries are represented.

Nicely done! As a true Oregonian (born in Eugene 54 years ago), I appreciate that you show the wide variety that our state offers to visitors…in geography, events, sights, and terrain. We are truly in God’s country from “ski” line to “sea” line! Thanks for promoting us in such a fun, high quality style.
