What's Going On In Oregon This May?

April 30, 2008

It's time to plan your summer getaway!

In Oregon you can see the world's largest sea cave, ride a half-mile alpine slide or study sharks swimming above your head. The kids will love an Oregon adventure, complete with outdoor fun, wildlife and more!

The kids will also love the brand new issue of Travel Oregon Kids Guide. It’s hot off the press and full of fun games, photographs and family travel ideas.

Also this month, we have another fantastic Oregon Coast giveaway, a delicious halibut recipe and great ideas for places to play golf.

See you in Oregon, where we're admiring river otters.

P.S. Mother’s Day is May 11. Why not take mom to an exciting and quirky Oregon event?

Diane Poitras Walker:

I enjoy this site as a way of looking at the state where I have lived all my life. I am an enrolled member of the Klamath Tribes and would like to see more about the powwows. There are many around the state during the summer and many families plan their vacations by these events. You printed a wonderful booklet about the tribes; please contact them and include their powwows on this site. I know there is a powwow in Portland the 3rd weekend in June and then, Pi-Ume-Sha is held in Warm Springs the 4th or last weekend in June. There is Tam-Ka-Liks, a very traditional powwow held in Wallowa the weekend before Chief Joseph Days. Please include these for another experience to savor that happens in Oregon. Diane

Ashley Moran:

Hi Diane,

Thank you so much for your feedback. Stay tuned for our June e-newsletter, as we are dedicating an entire story to powwows. Thank you for the event ideas as well!

Sincerely,

Kathy:

Beautiful web site - one of the best state sites. We'll be in Oregon in June traveling and visiting family. How about ordering some "perfect weather" for us? We'll be traveling on our Gold Wing pulling our tent trailer. Thus, camping and sight seeing along the way. K. R.
