The Perfect Valentine's Day Date...in Oregon!
February 5, 2008

If you were to concoct the perfect Oregon date, what would it consist of? Building sandcastles at the beach? A romantic dinner for two? Or maybe even mountain biking or camping? Our staff has compiled a list of their favorite Oregon locations, to inspire couples everywhere this Valentine's Day.
"My perfect date would include dinner at the Portland City Grill and an Oregon Ballet Theater show at the Keller Auditorium."

"I would start with a fondue dinner (cheese to start and chocolate to end) with my husband at the Melting Pot before walking over to see a great live performance by the Portland Opera at the Ira Keller Auditorium. Then of course, our date would finish with coffee and a fabulous dessert at Papa Haydn’s (open late!) on Portland’s trendy NW 23rd Avenue! Since it would be late at this point and we would probably be too tired to drive the hour back home, we’d have to spend the night at Portland’s hip hotel, Ace Hotel. After sleeping in, we’d head to the Cadillac Café on NE Broadway for a breakfast of the custard French toast. Now that’s a date!"

"Northern Lights, a theater in Salem, offers a four course meal, dessert, and a bottle of wine while enjoying a movie. This year the movie playing is Stardust. It’s only $50 per couple. It’s a simple, romantic night out, but more for those wanting to keep it casual."

"The perfect Oregon date: A powder-filled day of skiing at Mt Bachelor, followed up with a great dinner at the Pine Tavern Restaurant in Bend and then cuddling up in front of the fire at your Condo at Seventh Mountain Resort."
~Submitted by Teresa O.
"My ideal Oregon date would include strolling through the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, followed by a romantic walk at Spencer's Butte. Then dinner at Beppe & Gianni's Trattoria or Ambrosia, followed by dessert and coffee at Sweet Life Patisserie. Top the night off with a stay at Campbell House Inn & Restaurant, and you've got yourself a pretty good date!" ~Submitted by Ashley M.

Dinner in Bend on Valentine's Day : The Pine Tavern is OK but have you tried The Blacksmith Restaurant ? This place is really WOW !! Check out their website at www.bendblacksmith.com. I've been there several times and have been very impressed - nothing like it in Bend. You need to try it. Thanks for the opportunity to comment.
