It’s Oregon Bounty Time!

September 7, 2007

This October 1 through November 30, you’re invited to a huge, statewide celebration of all things culinary in Oregon. For two months there will be non-stop parties, events and festivals where you’ll get to meet local winemakers, sample original craft beer, taste wine perfectly paired with artisan cheese and other signature Oregon foods: chanterelles, truffles, hazelnuts, salmon, Dungeness crab…Is your mouth watering yet?

And it’s all just weeks away! To get in the spirit we hope you’ll tune in to The Oregon Bounty Music Department (right now we’re listening to a catchy little number called “99 Bottles of Pinot Noir on the Wall”).

And thanks to the fantastic new Oregon Bounty Recipe Book, you can plan all your meals through the New Year! How does Wild Mushroom Ravioli with Sautéed pears and hazelnuts sound?

See you at the Oregon Bounty Celebration, where we’ll be sipping Pinot noir and enjoying the beautiful fall colors.

I was hoping for information about where to drive to see nice fall foliage... there was nothing about this in the email.

My husband and I love visiting Oregon from CA. We know immediately when we arrive in OR for the roads are the best there are. We have an RV and it is a pleasure driving on your roads. Of course we love the scenery and the people are very friendly. Love reading your site and all the info it gives. We always look forward to blueberry season and the farm stands. What a delight it is to visit and stay in your RV resorts.
May I also add that the employees of the Monaco service center in Harrisburg are very courteous and it is always a pleasure to have our RV serviced there.
Thank you,
Penny

Hello!
I absolutely love your emails and the brochures too. My younger son recently moved to Oregon...Corvallis area and I had hoped to explore the possibility of moving there in the early spring. Recently the planning stage has been progressing at a very fast click and my plans are now to be there sometime during the Harvest Bounty!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited that I run around with a big smile on my face and nearly fall out of my chair with sheer delight whenever I receive your emails so please DO keep them coming...I will let you know whenever I get there what my new email address is!

Thanks,
Karen

I have subscribed to Travel Oregon for just about a year now. This was in preparation for a visit to Oregon from the UK in June 2007. The site was extremely helpful and guided me to places to go, places to stay and sources of brochures. We visited the Columbia Gorge and Eastern Oregon. The excitement highlight was a jet boat trip on Hells Canyon. The emotional highlight was the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center at Baker City. The best hotel was the Geiser Grand at Baker City. The unanswered question was why is it only in Oregon that there are signs asking people not to spit in the water cooler. We did not see these signs in any other state. We found the book of Scenic Byways very helpful and traveled on as many as we could. Whether we, as British OAPs (senior Citizens in American speak) will ever return to Oregon we don't know, we would like to but it is a long way and there are other places to see. However the Newsletter brings back happy memories when it comes into the inbox.
